DO NOT USE AS IS RUN THRU AI In 1923 the Colgate Soap company commissioned children s book illustrator Henriette Willebeek Le Mair to produce 12 pictures of children to be used in their print advertisements. A.A. Milne (the author of Winnie the Pooh) agreed to write this series of short stories about each of the illustrations which he describes as a fanciful elaboration of each picture. These stories were published in book form in 1925 and remain a classic of childrens picture books to this day.
